On 19 September 2009, Michaelian Military Band was invited as the guest band to perform in Town Hall. It was an event held by the government to celebrate
The Bulan Kemerdekaan Malaysia kali ke-52. About 40 dedicated members from the band formed a small orchestra to perform in the function.

The band played 5 songs to entertain the people around. It was significant event to the members when the Menteri Besar Perak, Dato Seri Zambry bin Abdul Kadir watched the band performed for the first time. The first song was a fast piece extracted from the movie James Bond, Secret Agent Man. Moving to a slow malay song, Hujan Di Tengah Hari. In the middle of the performance, the percussion slot in a drum solo, Cadence. Third song was a classical malay song which we used to sing, Rasa Sayang. The band ended with a fast and most entertaining song, Showcase For Band.

Overall the function was a success. For your information, it was the first function for Excos since they took over the band. Special thanks to all members who willing to sacrifice their time for this function. We should thank the Malays too for sacrificing their Raya Eve for the band. Last but least, the Form 5 who willing to help the band out. MMB will be in our heart forever. Before I end, allow me to wish all the band members ..
